Do not touch up paint directly. Start by determining where the moisture is coming from and which layer the failure occurred.Symptom diagramIt is used to help identify the appearance and does not represent the diagnosis results of the specific project.01
Recognize symptoms
A bulge is a local bulge formed after the coating film loses its adhesion; as it continues to develop, the coating film will crack, peel, and detach from the base layer or the previous layer of coating.
02
Find the cause
The wall contains water or continues to leak
Exterior walls, pipes, wet areas or condensation continuously add moisture to the wall.
The base layer does not meet the construction conditions
Insufficient drying, or there is powder, dust, oil and old glue on the surface.
Incompatibility between coatings
Improper combination of oil-based and water-based systems, missing primer, or the previous coat has not dried.
03
Create a repair path
1
Find the water source first
Check for leaks, moisture return, condensation and construction water. Do not cover directly if you are not sure of the cause.
2
Clear failed layer
Remove bulges and loose coating until the edges are firm and the base is stable.
3
Allow base layer to dry and re-treat
Complete cleaning, repair, reinforcement or matching primer according to the condition of the base layer.
4
Make a system model
Confirm adhesion, color and drying results before proceeding with large-area construction.
Applicable product direction / indoor mineral breathable topcoat
Remove the water source first, Then choose a breathable system.
Once the substrate is stable and properly prepared, Graphenstone Ecosphere lime-based interior paint can be evaluated. Its water vapor permeability helps reduce the risk of water vapor becoming trapped under the coating, but it is not a waterproof layer.
Data comes from Ecosphere official technical information. The actual project must still check the base layer, moisture content, matching primer and on-site samples.
